About the Poet
Christine Peters

Christine Peters is a poet, advocate, community organizer, and mother, who chooses to reflect on her experiences and interactions. She writes about her analysis of her environment and people. Though her undergraduate degree was in creative writing, this is the first time she is sharing her poetry with people outside of a classroom setting.

Poetry is her place of vulnerability and introspection. She enjoys and admires poets like Audre Lorde, Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, Gwendolyn Brooks and Robert Frost. She is drawn to harnessing power in energy, hope in reflection and sharing it with the world. Poetry is the element that nourishes her soul and creates peace in the chaos. She believes that art and creativity are a time capsule, capturing moments and creating a permanent product to reflect a specific time for individuals and society.
